Guided nature tours and excursion |
Join one of the guided tours that take will take place during the Forest Festival and on the Sunday excursion.
Inventory expert Sebastian Kirppu will, during the Sunday, hold an excursion to the old-growth forests in the surroundings of the Forest Festival area. You will learn about inventory techniques, old-growth forest dynamics and rare and endangered species.
Sebastian Kirppu has over the last 15 years been committed to the life of the natural forest by working with a variety of projects such as key habitat inventories, environmental monitoring inventories and species inventories for both forest companies and Government authorities. He is an experienced course instructor and has received several awards for his great contribution to the old-growth forest. Sebastian also has a strong non-profit commitment to nature and the injustice of it. The forest has been, throughout his life, an important friend and he hopes that it will continue to be, that Sweden makes sure to maintain a functioning forest ecosystem where animals and plants can survive to enable future generations to experience them.
When holding lectures, Sebastian reflects the reality in the forest, which is often hidden from the public. He has a burning interest in that there should be justice in our society, both between man and man, but also between man and nature.
Photo Lecture (will be held in Swedish):
The real situation of the Swedish natural forest
The photo lecture will show how the "Swedish model" of forestry, claimed to be the world's most eco-friendly, treats the forest. How the environmentally certified forestry daily violates the agreements of the FSC-certification and how the sectorial responsibilities of the forest industry towards the Swedish Forestry Act is just a scam.
Mindfulness in nature
Leader: Sara Stake
I know exactly what a cone looks like and feels… Or do I know that?
Join a guided tour where we open our minds and discover the nature again. From a focus on small details to overall impressions. In the moment, here and now.
The tour takes about 45 minutes. You should be able to be quiet most of the time and sit still for a while. Feel free to bring a ground sheet to sit on.
Jens Råberg will hold a guided climate tour during the Forest Festival.
